Creation of New Worker Magazine Game - Coworking, day one: a game

What and why?

For the inaugural edition of the New Worker Magazine, I was asked to create something interactive, and played with the idea of what coworking could be. Twine was the lightest weight interactive object to place within the New Worker Magazine framework, and I was able to come up with some playful ideas for the story.

What was learned

I learned how to apply variables and arrays to a Twine game, while also balancing story-lines and making sure there were options for directions to go. I also learned how to hide and show various elements based on the variables and how they changed while playing.

While this was not the largest twine I've ever worked on, keeping track of what went where was fun. The variables that aggregated how the user chose to behave within the narrative made the decisions of how the story flowed important to be able to view at a glance.

Coffee is a very important part of coworking, so naturally it had to be involved at some point. Or at least whether or not anyone is keeping the coffee stocked up.
